How To Be Unpopular In The Entrepreneur World?

5 tips to entrepreneurship entrepreneur world entrepreneurship success unpopular as an entrepreneur Mar 09, 2022

Entrepreneurship for its contenders can be a challenge, a source of freedom, purpose, and can offer innovation and progress to the world when successful.  Do you have what it takes to work hard?  There are many skills that an entrepreneur possesses. Whether you are just starting out or are a pro, who doesn’t want to be a more successful entrepreneur?  Here are just a few things that will help you stand out from the rest and therefore being unpopular with your competition:

  • Have super clear Core Values:  Build a business that reflects who you want to be and where you want to go.  When it comes to making major a decision it will be easier because you will always have your core values to guide you.

  • Give, over-deliver and always put the client first:  When you deliver more than you promised, you’re sure to have satisfied customers and clients, investors, and business partners.  In contrast,  successful entrepreneurs always exceed expectations.

  • Personal Growth:  The best entrepreneurs are constantly learning and adapting in order to maintain their ventures' success. They also do so to become better people and leaders, making sure they grow as their companies do.

  • Invest in yourself: As an entrepreneur, you may be working long hours, so much that it may be at the expense of your personal life.  Nothing is as precious as health – take care of yourself by getting enough hours of sleep, eating healthy, go to the gym, spending time in nature, or making time for a hobby you love.

  • Have a schedule or calendar for yourself:  The best way to achieve a directional balance to your work and life goals is to organize and maintain your calendar/schedule correctly

  • Push people to be their best:  Most people associate giving up with failure but understand that when you give up, you are not weak, nor does that mean you quit.  Success consists of failure so use that to keep pushing people to strive to be the best that they can be. Be a mentor to those around you.

  • Never stop networking: Reaching out and cultivating new relationships is so important for your business endeavors.  Networking opportunities are everywhere –  from industry conferences to social media. Take a genuine interest in the lives and businesses of those you interact with so you can form real friendships, clients, and/or partnerships that you’ll be able to create the support network you need to achieve lasting success.

  • Get comfortable with the unknown by shifting your perspective and trusting in yourself:  Becoming an entrepreneur means taking a giant leap out of your comfort zone. Keep in mind that you control your future and while at times that can be quite scary, it may also be incredibly rewarding and exciting.

  • Plan out your finances: Keep your business and personal finances separate. There’s a big difference between investing in your business and how you should invest in personal assets.  Many entrepreneurs attach their future livelihood to the success of the companies they run.  While they should be using their money to finance their day-to-day passions, a lack of diversification creates unintended risks to long-term financial security.

  • Be a great listener:  As an entrepreneur, customer service is one of your biggest assets.  The biggest mistake any business owner can make is when it comes to customer service and they assume they understand what the customer/client wants.  Ask how they use your product or service, what they like and don’t like. Just listen, because what you gain – if you are willing to listen without judgement – will be invaluable.

  • Give back:  Giving back as an entrepreneur is a rewarding experience both personally and professionally. The act of philanthropy is at the very heart that has driven the growth and success of many entrepreneurs. You feel fulfilled in the moment of giving and by doing something beyond yourself.  There are endless ways you can give back to your community, a certain cause you believe in, or a charity.

As an entrepreneur, you have to take a long-term strategy and build it in baby steps.  Finding success as an entrepreneur is not an easy task, but hopefully, with these helpful tips, I hope it becomes just a little easier.
